Music Lessons After We Reopen

What will music lessons look like after the world gets back to normal?

This past year has been crazy! Businesses all around the world were forced to adapt or go under. The use of modern technology became a necessity in our everyday lives. Whether you wanted to or not. You had to adapt. Unfortunately, many businesses were either unable or unwilling to change and as a result they did not make it. This was equally true for the music education industry.

Music schools everywhere had to switch to virtual lessons so that little ones could stay in their piano or guitar lessons and continue to grow as musicians. Although the music lesson industry was considered “hard hit” in 2020 there are a few success stories out there, we are proud to say that we are one of them!

In March last year we set up our first virtual music school to allow our families to continue learning the piano, guitar, singing, violin, drums, and ukulele. We spent many hours a day for weeks developing and perfecting our online music lesson experience. It was worth it! Most of our music students stayed with us throughout the year. Even though we locked down 3 times in Ontario we were able to maintain a steady and loyal student base.

As we gradually get back to normal and we can offer live music lessons in Brampton again it may look a bit different then it did before the pandemic. Here are a few things that we see staying with us long term.

1. Virtual Music Lessons
There will always be times when your little one is not feeling well, or you just can’t get home from work on time to drive them to their piano lesson. This is when virtual lessons will come in handy. Brampton Academy of Music has one simple link that takes you to our virtual lobby. All of our teachers are signed in on their laptops while in their teaching studio. When you arrive our professional office staff will put you into your teacher’s virtual room and can have your lesson, without having to leave your house. You will be able to take a live or virtual lesson at your convenience.

2. Touch Free Registration
Over the past year we developed a registration system that does not require you to come into the music school and register in person. It’s quick and easy (about 5 minutes) to get started.

3. Hepa Air Filters
We have spent thousands of dollars investing in Hepa air filters for every teaching studio. These filters are capable of handling particles smaller than the virus, and they clean the air in the room completely every 20 min. These will stay in the school long after we reopen to provide a clean and healthy environment for our students.

Brampton Academy of Music offers piano lessons, guitar lessons, voice, violin, drums, and ukulele to families in Brampton Ontario who don’t just want to learn music but want to learn to love music!
