Brampton School of Music’s In-Home Division offers vocal and voice/singing lessons for ages 7 and up in the comfort of your own home in Brampton Ontario Our voice instructors focus primarily on popular music like pop and R&B, and are also comfortable with classical and jazz. If you have always wanted to improve your voice and learn how to sing better, Brampton School of Music has the right in-home voice instructors for you. Our vocal students spend time doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, and stage presence. All of our in-home music students set frequent goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favourite artists, or to develop their own unique voice.
Our in-home voice teachers generally focus on modern music and are comfortable with classical and jazz as well. Our students will learn vocal techniques while learning how to sing their favorite songs.
Our voice teachers have received their education from institutions such as York University, Western University, Humber College, Mohawk College, University of Toronto, and the Royal Conservatory of Music. Many of our vocal instructors have gone on performance tours of Canada and the US, and have years of experience in teaching and performing. They are also hand picked for their friendly and warm personalities. All of our singing teachers strive to get to know each student and their parents personally, and to become familiar with your personal musical goals.
We recommend children be 7 years old before they start singing lessons. Learning how to sing requires a fairly developed lung capacity. Children under 7 may find certain voice techniques physically demanding and a bit difficult. It’s often better for a child to wait until they are a bit older as to avoid potential problems in the future. Try not to confuse this with singing in music lessons. Singing along with the melody in your piano or guitar lessons is extremely valuable. Simply singing along quietly is unlikely to damage your voice where as learning how to project and sing from your diaphragm requires more development.
All of our vocal students are invited to sing in our bi-annual music recitals. These music recitals are 100% optional however we do recommend that students participate by singing songs they are learning in their voice lessons. Our music recitals are held at a beautiful venue with all the equipment and microphones needed to make your performance the best it can be! We offer two recitals per year at no additional cost to our families.
