Hello there everyone. My name is James and I’m the director for the Brampton School of Music and the Academy of Music in Oakville, Burlington ,and Georgetown. I’m here with a quick video update.

We’ll start with next week. Next week is spirit week. It’s a beach theme and we’re encouraging all of our students to come in with Hawaiian shirts or hats, sunglasses, maybe a pool noodle, a sand bucket. Anything at all that relates to the beach. Anybody who does that will be entered to win a prize. I don’t know what the prize is
but I believe Vanessa our assistant manager will come up with something clever. I know there’s going to be some sort of a fun prize in addition to a gift certificate to Dairy Queen. So, next week come in and show your beach themed wear and we’ll just have fun take lots of pictures.

I’d like to take a moment to welcome all of the new students that have registered since my last update. There are 48 new students who have joined us to start their musical Journey so welcome! We appreciate you and we’re glad you’re here! Those names are down below in the in the newsletter itself.

Our summer recital and student appreciation days for the Burlington and Oakville studios are in Oakville on August 13th and for the Georgetown and Brampton Studios those will be in Georgetown on August 20th. We’re going to have a bouncy castle as far as I know, and we’re going to have a barbecue where I’m cooking hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers for those who want it. We’ll have face painting and fun games and prizes. This is one of the ways that we say thank you to you for being one of our students.

Disney recital and Gala; I mentioned this the last video update but on January 27th we’re going to host our very first Disney themed recital and Gala in Oakville. There will be more details on that coming soon.

On the same theme we are always looking for new opportunities for our students to share their music with the community. We want our students to play music for other people. We want you guys to set and Achieve goals regularly. That’s why we have the Musical Ladder System. That’s why we have the Practice Challenge Program. So, in the next coming months you will notice we’ll be putting more information out there on seniors home shows. We are going to arrange shows for our students to go and perform for seniors at their homes to entertain them. It’s a lovely thing to do for the community and it’s great for the kids to practice music and share it with a very appreciative audience.

This system helps motivate students to create and achieve musical goals with their instructor.
