If you want to become a great guitar player, you will need a lot more than 3 chords. Musicians study for many years to gain complete control of their guitar. The objective is to be able to play any/every chord. If you can only play 3 chords you are drastically limiting the songs and styles you can play. This can be a lifelong journey of music exploration.
But what if you’re just starting out and haven’t even had a single guitar lesson? Playing 3 chords is a great start and, you can use those chords to play hundreds of songs. Here’s a short list of popular songs you can learn as a beginner guitar student that will inspire you to learn more. Your friends and family will be impressed, and you will likely want to keep learning.
